Unlocking Hidden Skills & Talents!

Tuesday brought a cooler and rainier day than we have been blessed with recently.

Over the last few days we’ve been making the most of the glorious weather, sitting outside for coffee and cake and watching the local wild deer graze in our large garden field.

The lockdown has given new opportunities for staff to use their hidden skills and talents. Our carer, Sue, has been carrying out regular cuts for our ladies and gentlemen, keeping them feeling tip top. There’s also been many staff come forward to deliver pamper sessions, makeup and nail treatments. In fact our residents are looking great!

We are now thinking about our VE Day celebrations and preparing for a special day on Fri 8th May. We are chatting with residents about their ideas and how they would like to celebrate VE Day, but welcome all suggestions!

Although we are shielding our residents from the wider community, we continue to be lifted and inspired by the actions of our local community. When our night shift came into work last week they were touched by the beautiful rainbow message that had been hand painted on a stone and left outside. Thank you to Henry for thinking of us all! The Stay Safe message is much appreciated.

We have worked very hard with developing our own staff team over the past few months and have been able to stop all agency staff since the beginning of April. This has greatly lowered our risk of infection and we’re thankful for the flexibility of our team to support with this commitment.
