Our flagship facility Barley View is a modern, purpose-built care home facility, offering residential and dementia care in the Rossendale valley.
Located in Whitworth – nestled between Bacup and Rochdale – our home is designed and equipped to meet a wide range of needs in a comfortable and homely setting. Barley View is a warm, welcoming care home nestled in the beautiful village of Whitworth, between Bacup and Rochdale. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Rossendale Valley, BarleyView offers a peaceful, rural setting with strong community ties.

At Barley View we have…
28 en-suite bedrooms and the community lounges, kitchens, dining areas and garden are available for residents to enjoy together and with their families.
Careful attention has been paid to make each area comfortable, with specially chosen fabrics and colours.
Intelligent, pictorial signage helps guide residents around the facilities, and clever use of colour helps our residents who have additional needs, manage spatial awareness.
A hearing loop and level access are also available throughout Barley View.

You’re welcome to bring your own furniture and

Nutritious and delicious food
Barley View has a team of in-house cooks producing delicious home-cooked meals for residents.
Meals are balanced and nutritious in accordance with the needs of the individuals and can accommodate any special dietary requirements.
Snacks and drinks are also available throughout the day from communal kitchens and snack stations in individual bedrooms, and family and friends are welcome to join residents for meals by prior arrangements.

Additional services
We welcome visiting professionals providing a range of services for the benefit and convenience of residents.
We work closely with local health and social care providers who visit the home on a regular basis or who can make visits by prior arrangement.
These include local GPs, district nurses, opticians and chiropodists. Barley View is also equipped with its own hairdressing salon, with a hairdresser and barber available for appointments.
Visiting our residents
Family and friends are always welcome to visit Barley View. We consider these visits an essential way of ensuring the wellbeing of our residents.
Visitors are welcome to share time with residents in various seating areas. Enjoying TV in the lounge, having a chat in the quiet area, enjoying a cup of tea in the dining area, relaxing in our landscaped garden or in the comfort and privacy of their own room.
There’s always time for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee using our communal kitchen facilities. Or, with prior arrangement, relatives can also join residents for mealtimes.
There are also plenty of ways for residents to keep in touch with their family and friends with internet access to up-to-date technology for Skype and messenger services.

Barley View is set within the peaceful countryside around Whitworth, a welcoming village community in the heart of the Rossendale Valley. Our home offers amazing views of the countryside and, with just a short stroll into the village, you will also find a bakery, butchers and local independent shops.
