Barley View recently marked its 5-year anniversary with a heartfelt event that brought the community together with a special tree planting ceremony with residents, the Mayor and Mayoress of Whitworth and students from Our Lady & St Anselm’s Roman Catholic Primary School took part.
Adding to the celebrations was a choir performance from the talented students from Our Lady & St Anselms’s Roman Catholic Primary School and a capsule creation day with images and memories of Barley View and the residents stored in a time capsule.
Events took place across a five-day period starting on 28th November including bake offs, party days for residents to a winter market day in which items such as key rings and homemade lavender gifts were available to purchase for members of the community.
Local brass band, Stacksteads performed as part of the winter market day which also involved a visit from Father Christmas.
