Earlier this week, we finally took receipt of our brand-new Barley View minibus! Forming part of our activities plan for the coming year, the minibus will give us greater opportunities to get out, see the sights and reconnect with our local community.
The addition of the minibus will give us even more opportunities to improve our resident’s wellbeing, allowing each of them to pursue their interests and get involved with local events, classes, and coffee mornings.
While everything remains shut at the moment, the minibus gives us all something to look forward to and provides our residents with a much-needed injection of optimism
Like most things, the arrival of our new minibus was delayed earlier this year following the outbreak of COVID-19. Now, with next year looking a little brighter, we decided it would be a good time to get our minibus in place and start planning our first set of day trips.
While a trip to the seaside in summer 2021 remains firmly at the top of our wish list, the possibilities feel endless. We have taken to our Facebook page to help us gather trip recommendations from our lovely followers. We’ve had a great response and have already received some brilliant suggestions including Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough and Townley Park in Burnley.
No Ordinary Bus
Our new minibus has been specially converted to accommodate wheelchairs and walking aids and even has a disabled access lift! All these nifty features mean all of our residents will be able to access the minibus and benefit from the opportunity to get out and about.
