The weather has been hotting up this week so we’ve spent many an hour outside; seeking welcome shade, drinking smoothies and slurping lollipops!
We enjoyed another afternoon filled with musical fun from the Cotton Shed Theatre Company. The group are visiting our home every couple of weeks during lockdown. Our balconies are coming in handy, enabling all our residents to take part in the entertainment, while remaining safe. The residents on Willow Lane are currently winning the competition for the loudest singers!
Government guidance continues to change on a daily basis, and we are keeping abreast of all latest developments. We’ve introduced a new COVID-19 policy, that combines all guidance and recommendations for safeguarding of staff and residents. For any relatives who’d like to take a look, a copy is available on request.
We’re currently awaiting the second round of care home testing to retest all the staff and residents. In the meantime we are still able to test on an ad hoc basis any staff or residents displaying symptoms and pre-test new residents coming into our home. To date we continue to remain Covid-free.
Staff wellbeing remains high, and we were delighted to receive the anonymous survey results from our Calico group survey, showing that 94% of staff who replied from Barley View reported feeling ‘OK’ or ‘pretty good’ most of the time. Given that we are working through a global pandemic in a health and social care setting, facing unprecedented challenges, we are pleased our team is feeling OK and pretty good!
