Friday already. Our patio doors are letting in some much needed fresh air and sun for our residents to enjoy. Our residents have been enjoying our garden and the fresh flowers we planted recently. We’re grateful for the beautiful Whitworth surroundings during these difficult times and making the most of our lovely care home.
So far this week we have:
- Sourced further masks that are fluid repellent should we need them. A massive thank you to our friends and family members for making us mask extenders for additional comfort, a very welcome and needed gift!
- Upskilled our Care Team to take on specialised nursing tasks via the District Nurses Team to ensure we have less traffic and visitors into the building. Tasks such as Daily blood sugar checks and administration of insulin are now being delivered by our team. We are grateful to the support of our brilliant District Nurses who have trained, observed and signed our staff off.
- Purchased and provided new washable footwear and additional uniform to staff for upgraded protection. Maybe not the most beautiful of shoes, however practical and safety first every time at Barley View.
Our housekeeping team are working extremely hard at present to ensure our home is extra sparkling, working additional hours and various shifts. The entire team is going above and beyond to provide a safe and lovely place to live.
Managers at Barley View have joined the rota to work weekend shifts to ensure our staff are both supported and that we can manage resource and number of people in the home more effectively.
We are now busy planning for additional activities during lockdown especially the forthcoming VE 75th anniversary celebrations.
